The Offshore World powerboat racing is back to Italy. The third round of the UIM Skydive Dubai XCAT World Series was held in Naples, May 23 to 25, and now, for the fourth leg, the teams are heading to Stresa on Lake Maggiore in a couple of weeks (20-22 June). Originally scheduled to host races in July, Stresa has already been on the XCat calendar last year.
Fans will not want to miss the fight to battle Fazza with driver Arif Al Zafain and throttleman Nadir Bin Hendi (from UAE) that took first position at the first three UIM Skydive Dubai XCat World Series races this year. What participating powerboats will be able to stand up and overtake Fazza to win the Stresa Grand Prix? Will it be Team Dubai of Sultan Al Dhaheri and Jay Price or the Italian pair Tommaso Polli and Matteo Nicolini in Six to make the difference and put on the pressure for pole position? Soon, the Italian spectators and world fans will know if any other offshore boats can challenge Fazza as the victorious duo of Arif Al Zafain and Nadir Bin Hendi, again, try to take a fourth consecutive win.
Norwegian pilot Pål Virik Nilsen might also be part of the race with Lady Spain after a 2-race break. He will be in the driver’s seat with Italian Marco Fabrizi as throttleman.
It’s really good to be back. To miss a couple of races is a nightmare. I think Stresa and Italy is the best place to race. The people coming to watch are so addicted to the sport. That, for sure, affects all of us working in the Series in a positive way.
The championship is still open, with more venues to come, and spectators and fans alike are certain to see a thrilling, head-to-head showdown at the fourth round of the UIM Skydive Dubai XCat World Series in Stresa.
