The UEFA EURO 2016 in France, from 10 June to 10 July, brings the best teams and players in Europe to play in a 24-team tournament. This will be the third time that France hosts the UEFA European Championship.
With over 51 matches, organized in ten host cities within France (Bordeaux, Lens, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Paris, Saint-Denis, Saint-Etienne and Toulouse), UEFA’s 2016 European Football Championship brings the best of “European football” to be played at both new or renovated stadiums.
Winner of the last tournament was Spain (2012) that successfully defended its championship by beating Italy in the final game. With that victory, Spain has tied Germany with 3 previous wins; however, home team France with 2 previous wins would like to prove it is ready to join the best and will do what it takes to come out of the tourney victorious. Will it happen? Spain is set to repeat itself and make it a third consecutive winning streak (2008, 2012, 2016), and Italy and England (ranked 4 and 5 respectively in qualifying group stage stats) are surely to be other teams to watch.
The UEFA EURO 2016 competition format consists of qualifying competition, play-offs and a final tournament. UEFA EURO 2016 tickets for matches are still available via the ticket portal for those who want to attend and enjoy an in-person fan experience that brings one “the most beautiful sporting emotions” for fans, explains UEFA.com.
