The European Tour’s Race to Dubai is a golf tournament that involves players and venues from every continent. It consists of 12 months of playing in 26 countries (48 tournaments total). The competition started last November in South Africa and is now getting ready to crown a new winner.
This event sponsored by DP World, a shipping company based in Dubai, will see the season-ending in Dubai, on the beautiful setting of the Jumeirah Golf Estates from Thursday 20 to Sunday 23 November. Xerox Emirates, which sports a long-term involvement in golf tournaments, will be supporting the event, now in its third year,
The tournament has recently changed from a money-based table to a points table with every Euro of prize money earned by the top 111 players this season converted into a point. In other words, each point is equivalent to €1. The conversion to dollars will be based on the exchange rate set on Monday November 17. The overall winner of The Race to Dubai will be the golf player who has earned the highest number of points on conclusion of the DP World Tour Championship.
Some of the best players in Golf will be participating to the season ending tournament of the European Tour in Dubai. The top 15 players on The Race to Dubai will be sharing a $5 million Bonus Pool.
Today, there are four golf players still battling to become European Number One as the competition enters its final stage in Dubai this month: McIlroy (NIR), Donaldson (WAL), Garcia (ESP) and Siem (GER). Sweden’s Henrik Stenson, who is currently in sixth position of the European Tour Statistics Leaders, won the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai in 2013.
