The Al Maha Fun Run, an event geared towards both social and experience runners, is scheduled for November 28; it takes place along the Dubai / Al Ain Road and is hosted by Al Maha as a Road to Awareness Fun Run. DubaiBlog, a frequent partner of several sport events in the UAE, will take part in the competition and support the event.
Run, walk or jog, this is an occasion to participate in a fun, healthy, and charitable event. The fee is AED 100 per person, with proceeds going to the R2A initiative, the Starwood’s Roads to Awareness (R2A) campaign of fundraising events to support UNICEF, the children’s rights and emergency relief organization.
The event that will take place later this month is sure to attract competitors of all ages. Participants (ages 10-years and above) can choose between a 10km fun run and a professional runner 15km race at Al Maha – the Arabian Oryx, which is situated in Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve – i.e., United Arab Emirates’ first National Park.
Those that signed up for the 10km competition must arrive at 14.30, as the start will be given at 15.00; whereas, for the 15km challenge, they must arrive at 15.30, since that race starts at 16.00.
This Fun Run is one of many desert activities that take place just inside the Al Maha reserve, in the larger dunes situated close by within the depths of a desert landscape. The available track roads let visitors enjoy the spectacular scenery and go out onto the soft sand to explore.
The event setting draws attention to Al Maha’s appeal and success as one of the leading Spa Resorts in Dubai. Al Maha, A Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa was instrumental in creating the conservation reserve that is around it and continues to support all region’s conservation efforts.
Participators will be making their way through the desert scenery on a track road, with the starting point being at the main entrance gate to the DDCR (Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve) and ending at Al Maha’s desert campsite. Finishers will be welcomed with a post-race fruit feast during the prize giving reception, which will take place at 1800.
