The 2015 Dubai World Cup Offers the Best of UAE Horse RacingSaturday, March 28 marks the 20th Dubai World Cup meeting, which brings global horse racing competition on a track. The gates open as early as noon (12:00am) with the race being at 4:00pm. Spectators are sure to enjoy this top-tier Purebred Arabian horses race that will be staged on a dirt surface installed at Meydan Racecourse.

Emirates-sponsored Super Saturday, presents the US$10 million (Dh36.7m) Dubai World Cup, the richest horse race on the planet; many wonder if African Story, ridden by jockey James Doyle, will be able to defend its title. The leading international trainer Saeed bin Suroor thinks so, only if the rider of African Story gets a good position early on.  James Doyle is determined to become the only DWC winner to defend successfully his crown. If that were to happen, then it would be the first time in the history of the cup, since its inception in 1996, that a horse earned a back-to-back win; last seasons’ winning jockey Silvestre de Sousa now rides another race horse. He has proved he is one of the best, closing on Richard Mullen (a winner at Abu Dhabi for a third time this season) who is in the running for UAE’s top jockey title this year. Soon, we shall all know who will be this year’s DWCC top horse and jockey.

Those interested in attending the finale of DWCC 2015, the biggest race on the UAE racing calendar, have only a few weeks left to buy tickets. General Admission tickets (AED 25 per person) can be purchased only from the Ticket Sales Office, which is open from Sundays to Thursdays, 8am-8pm and on a weekend day if it is a raceday, until March 27, in between Gates B & C of the Meydan Grandstand.

Alternatively, there is Apron Views (AED 450 per person), situated between the track and the Meydan Grandstand, that offers Patio Table Umbrella seating arrangements and brings participants closer to the post-race concert. For a more luxury experience, there is the Meydan Lounge (AED 2,000 per person), which is located on Level 6 of the Meydan Grandstand, that gives breath-taking views of the racetrack and overlooks the Apron Views area. Following the closing of the Dubai World Cup, there will be a concert performance by global superstar, Kylie Minogue who is set to perform a range of hits from her phenomenal music career. Minogue’s high-octane concert will begin at approximately 10pm that same evening.
