Dubai (UAE): While online registration for the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon has now closed, runners who would still like to take part in Friday’s race – and who have not yet registered – can do so in person from Tuesday (Jan 21) at the Al Johara Ballroom, Madinat Jumeirah.
The Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon 2014 is going to take place on January 24th. Friday’s race will see the Marathon get underway at 7am, the 10km at 7.15am and the 3km Fun Run at 11am. Race maps and information are available from www.dubaimarathon.org. As well as thousands of local athletes, the event will feature a host of world-class distance runners including Markos Geneti of Ethiopia and Kenyans Jonathan Maiyo and Laban Korir.
Registration will be by credit card only and can be done on Tuesday and Wednesday (Jan 21-22) from 10am to 7pm or on Thursday (Jan 23) from 10am to 5pm. No more entries are being accepted for the 3km Fun Run.
The huge demand to run in the 3km means we can no longer accept any entries for the short distance. However, when run number collection begins for those that have already registered and been notified, we will still accept registration in person for the Marathon and the 10km races only.
said Event Director Peter Connerton.
Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon is supported by the Dubai Sports Council, Adidas, Dubai Eye 103.8FM, Masafi, Dubai Holding, Dubai Police, the RTA and Dubai Municipality.
