It’s that time of the year when the most outrageous outfits and hairstyles appear, when fashion reigns and the hottest stylists and designers are the talk of the town. Throughout October, fashion events abound in Dubai, brands and designers present their recent collections to an eager and demanding multicultural audience.
Casual clothing brand Splash presented its Fall/Winter collection during a well attended show on September 26th, the title of the event was Exit 21, standing for the 21st anniversary of Splash in the UAE. Splash’s event is also famous for its after-party attracting socialites and fashion lovers from all over the region.
A very anticipated event consists in the Fashion Week Middle East (FWME). At its first edition in Dubai, the event will take place every year in the months of March and October, the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC)‒the financial hub of the Middle East‒will play host to some of the fashion world’s most influential designers and aficionados.
Fashion Week Middle East offers both regional and international designers the opportunity to showcase their awesome creations to some of the fashion industry’s most discerning industry insiders, buyers, editors, bloggers, celebrities and celebrity stylists.
Designers in the likes of Charlotte Ronson, Amber Feroz, Sohad Acouri, Ina Soltani and more, have delighted guests with their cutting edge styles from October 1st to the 4th. FWME aims to grow and compete with some of the world famous Fashion Weeks such as FW Paris and FW Milan.
Perhaps the most awaited fashion event is taking place from October 4th to the 6th at Madinat Jumeirah: Fashion Forward.
Fashion Forward (FFWD) aims to be the definitive fashion platform for the Middle East – a fashion movement that highlights strengths, inspires and nurtures industry growth and its wealth of talent, with the ultimate goal of driving forward the entire fashion industry in the region.
FFWD includes numerous catwalk presentations from top regional designers, inspiring talks and panel discussions led by global industry experts and fashion academia, as well as entertainment, through a string of social events and parties. Highlights of this season are shows by Michael Cinco and Amato.
However, fashion is not only for the industry and events that will be open to general public are also in the program. Vogue Italia, one of the world’s leading authorities on fashion, in partnership with Emaar, organizes Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience, back in Dubai for its second season from October 30th to November 1st. Over 300 brands in fashion will come together to celebrate retail and the fashionable lifestyle at The Dubai Mall.
