Inflight Dubai: indoor skydiving in Dubai, UAE

Inflight Dubai: indoor skydivingThe wind tunnel of Inflight Dubai is the only way to experience the thrill of world-class skydiving without jumping from a plane.. a real indoor skydiving. High-powered fans push air into the tunnel, creating wall-to-wall airflow with enough lift to support a person in flight. Inflight Dubai team of world-class instructors, state-of-the-art facilities and the most advanced vertical wind tunnel on the planet, will have you flying in minutes – all without a parachute or an aircraft.

Because there is no parachute involved, the tunnel provides a perfect way for beginners to experience the sensation of floating. But it is also popular with professionals and the military, who can try skydiving without the cost and the short time provided by a skydive from the plane.

The tunnel provides the same feeling loved by skydivers across the world – weightlessness and that unique adrenaline rush – as the speed and flow of the column of air supports your body throughout, the same rush of adrenalin as those who jump out of a plane at 3,650m, and also a proper training for the ones willing to get used to that sensation before a real skydive. With a prime location next to the Skydive Dubai Desert Campus, experienced skydivers and beginners can combine tunnel time with skydiving.

At 16.5ft (5.03m) across and 68 ft (20.73 m) in height and producing a restricted wind speed of 175mph (282kmph), the high-tech flying chamber located on Dubai-Al Ain Road (E66) offers the safest and most exhilarating thrills of indoor skydiving and it’s the highest and biggest wind tunnel in the world.

Fans powered by four electric motors producing a total of 2,000 hp generate the column of air that lifts flyers upwards. Moving 329,000 cfm (9,316 cmm) of air an airflow controller working in co-ordination with the instructor inside the tunnel, ensures the optimal wind speed for each individual flyer.

Observation decks allow you to watch and take pictures as friends, family and other adventure lovers take to the tunnel for their own flight experience.

How it works

As a guest at Inflight Dubai, you will go through pre-flight safety and information checks before taking to the wind tunnel. We therefore recommend that you arrive on site at least one hour before your confirmed flying time to ensure that you don’t miss your allocated flight. This will maximise your time with the team and leave you relaxed and well prepared for the thrill. You will also be able to watch as others take to the tunnel.

Video and a pre-flight briefing on body control techniques and safety measures will be provided by your dedicated instructor. Once briefed, flyers are taken to the locker room where a flight suit, safety goggles and helmet are provided. All pockets must be emptied and all jewelry removed. You are advised to wear lace-up sports shoes for your flight (no sandals, flip-flops or open toed shoes).
