The Abu Dhabi GPrace in the Yas Marina circuit will be the season finale of the engaging 2014 Formula One championship. With teammates and ex friends, Rosberg and Hamilton fighting for the title at every turn, the Abu Dhabi weekend promises to be one that will keep Formula One enthusiasts glued to the TV or, if lucky, to their circuit seat.
Those who will be able to secure tickets for this incredible GP race of Abu Dhabi, will also be treated with a great after-race entertainment program that will run through the 4 days of the event. The organization, in fact, has secured performances from some of the world’s top artists.
On Thursday, November 20, the program will begin with performances by Tamer Hosny – Egyptian movie star and singer – Carole Samaha –award winning Lebanese musician and actress – Emirati singer Faiz Al Saeed and Mohammed Assaf of ‘Arab Idol’ fame from Palestine.
Friday 21 November will be the turn of renowned Dutch DJ and producer Armin Van Buuren; he has been able to take the No. 1 spot in the DJ Mag Top 100 five times during his 15 years career. He will present a show created exclusively for the Yas Marina event with the intent to turn the venue into the ultimate dance party. Invitations for the concert will be given exclusively to the first 15,000 UAE-based race ticket purchasers.
Pharrell Williams will be the performer on Saturday, November 22. The singer, songwriter and producer will present pop tracks from his over twenty-year career including his most recent hit tracks, the seminal Happy, Marilyn Monroe and Come Get it Bae as well as his 2003’s solo track, Frontin’. Williams is famous not only for his solo career but also as the producer of pop idols such as Britney Spears and hip-hop legends like Jay Z. The performance at Yas Marina will be part of his ‘Dear Girls’ world tour.
To close the weekend in style, Sunday, 23 November, The Who will be performing in the after-race event. The legendary rock band confirmed Abu Dhabi as the first official date of the WHO HITS 50 Tour. The group will play hits from their entire career. The Who represent a piece of rock and roll history as their sold out concerts and the many awards can prove: they won a Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. Singer Roger Daltry and guitarist Pete Townshend are sure to delight their numerous fans in the show that will close not only the GP of Abu Dhabi, but also the Formula One 2014 season.
