It is confirmed that Dubai will be hosting a World Cup swimming event this month. Competitions will span over two days, August 31 and September 01, and will be held at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Sport Complex. The swim competition starts at 10:00 am and ends at 5:00 pm, with the preliminary rounds held in the morning and the finals later in the day.
The event is a high-profile competition involving some of today’s best swimmers. It is organized by FINA that currently oversees international competitions in Aquatic sports. Many internationally recognized swimmers will be in Dubai following the swim meet in Doha (QAT) on 27-28 August. The FINA swimming event in Dubai is the second round of a series of meetings scheduled in seven locations this year. The Swimming World Cup is open to all swimmers from FINA member countries, which includes United Arab Emirates.
The competition program in Dubai includes a total of 36 swim events (consisting of men and women Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly and Individual Medley), in addition to two mixed relays (4 x 50m Medley for Women and Freestyle for Men).
