Dubai’s newest residential development plan—the Floating Seahorse Villas—was recently revealed. The residence is a mix between a contemporary marine yacht and a luxury villa, and will be located 2.5 miles off Dubai’s coast.
The ‘Floating Seahorses’ homes designed by Dubai-based real estate developer firm Kleindienst capture Dubai’s aim to deliver the ultimate spectator experience. A presentation from Josef Kleindienst, Chairman of The Heart of Europe, showed how such a distinctive landmark being constructed by Kleindienst Group—the biggest European real estate company in Dubai—brings the underwater living experience for family or couples to life thanks to its submerged rooms with modern and high-tech amenities.
It is important to note that it is not the first project of its kind; in fact, the “floor-to-ceiling windows in the underwater suites at Atlantic, the Palm” offer views of life under the sea, all visible while guests stay dry and comfortable; from the bedroom they can have views of an enormous aquarium which reflects the surrounding ocean sea life and coral reefs.
Why the residential development is called the Floating Seahorse? Well, Josef Kleindienst, the CEO of the property developers Kleindienst Group stated that “the seahorse is an endangered species and we will create an artificial coral reef beneath the luxury retreats which will be a protected area in which seahorses can safely live and breed.”
About the project: ‘Floating Seahorse’ villas are being constructed to be part of a new real-estate plan on a manmade archipelago referred to as “The World Islands” because it will be in the shape of Earth’s continents. The Seahorses Villas that come afloat jumpstarts building on its other sandy islands, as part of a larger hotel development “The Heart of Europe,” located 4km from the Dubai coast.
The first prototype of these ‘Floating Seahorse Villas in Dubai’ has been built and is expecting to open and be readied for clients to visit and purchase as early as this fall, according to the Daily Mail. As mentioned at freshersmag.com “The homes are selling currently for $1.8 million and only 42 have been built so far, and 35 have already been sold. The project is scheduled to finish by the end of 2016, and the first tenants will move into their giant floating seahorses in 2017.” The properties offer a lifetime investment opportunity in Dubai. Currently available for purchase. Buyers will spend as much as $2.7 million for the floating luxury home that has a total of three levels. As for the standard 2-level, latest models have a list price of Dh12 millions. If that is not a feasible option, there is always the possibility to rent one. It will cost up to 25,000 AED per day to Rent the Seahorse Floating Homes! However, during the October launch, they will be available for 10,000 AED per day.
This real-estate wonder is, once again, defying the odds and going where no man has ever gone before. The half-submerged Floating Seahorse project, which was showcased at Cityscape Abu Dhabi at ADNEC and Dubai International Boat Show turned many heads and generated a wealth of interest from boat owners, investors and media. It has received coverage worldwide with its innovative concept of floating marine facilities. In the realm of design while ensuring the highest of safety standards, the construction for the floating villas project has been nominated and entered for an innovation award that will give recognition to this truly outstanding achievement.
When it comes to ‘Underwater Residences,’ completely submerged or partially under the sea, “[Dubai] takes sleeping with the fishes to a whole new below-sea level,” says Condé Nast Traveler.
