Dubai Racing Club is hosting 11 Dubai World Cup Carnival meetings that will be highlighted by the flagship Dubai World Cup on March 29, 2014.
The Dubai World Cup (Arabic:كأس دبي العالمي) is a thoroughbred horse race held annually on the last Saturday in March and currently contested at the Meydan Racecourse. The race is operated through the Emirates Horse Racing Authority whose Chairman is HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nayan. The race was created in 1996 by the Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum who owns Darley Stud & Godolphin Racing, one of the world’s leading thoroughbred breeding and racing operations.
he Dubai World Cup currently offers purses totalling US$27.25 million and is the single richest day of Thoroughbred racing in the world.

The Dubai World Cup is a extravagance and fashion contest as well. The Jaguar Style Stakes competition, sponsored by automotive major Jaguar for the fifth year, will see a panel of judges from the fashion and media industry crowning Dubai’s fashionistas under various categories. They include ‘Best Dressed Lady’ (winner and runner-up), ‘Best Hat’, ‘Best Dressed Man’, ‘Best Dressed Couple’ and ‘Most Creative Hat’. The lucky ‘Best Dressed Lady’ will drive away a brand new Jaguar XK for a year and winners of the other categories will receive prizes from Jaguar and other sponsors. There will also be a ‘Most Elegant Lady’, sponsored by Longines and selected by a team of style spotters as racing guests arrive on the day. The Jaguar Style Stakes Arena will be in the Apron area of Meydan Grandstand. Participants must be 21 or older. While online registration opened in early March, entrants can also register in person on race day.
